Millwall attempting to snare Timlin
Timlin hails from staunch Lions territory, having grown up in Peckham, and several of his family and friends are thought to be Millwall fans.
According to today’s Southend Echo, Timlin has refused Southend’s first offer of a new deal but is believed to be keen to stay at Roots Hall. If any club were able to turn his head though, it is thought to be the Lions and manager Neil Harris knows all about the dynamic midfielder after his spell at Roots Hall in 2011/12.
Timlin recently returned from his honeymoon and, with his contract due to expire on June 30, will be keen to sort out his future by that date. Southend are yet to make an improved offer, but supporters are desperate to see the battling midfielder commit himself to the Shrimpers.
Phil Brown said in the Echo he was “confident” Timlin would sign, but the onus is now on the club to make Timlin an offer that will persuade him not to join his local club.
